Celebrate Maryland’s 380th anniversary with ceremony, pageantry, fun, and free admission.  Employ March winds to enjoy a colonial pastime – kite flying–with HSMC “colonists” in Mackall Field from 10-noon.  Enjoy kids crafts, a scavenger hunt, and try your hand at “jousting.”  View three lead coffins excavated from the Brick Chapel of 1667 in the Visitor Center, lab director Silas Hurry will be at the exhibit from 2-4. The annual program will take place at 1 p.m. by the Visitor Center. Keynote speaker will be Christine L. Bergmark, Ph.D, Executive Director of the Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission, on ways agriculture has shaped our state.  Expressions of St. Mary’s will offer lunch, beverages, and snacks to purchase.
